Funny stuff, Ketogenic diets stuff, weightloss stuff, YouTube stuff and Fatshion!
Soooo many of you probably know that last year I tried the Somae diet (which is fantastic) to lose weight. I have a really stubborn metabolism, and it was the first real “diet” that worked for me. The clarity I had while doing Somae was totally unmatched, and I was never hungry. I learned that when you eat more nutritious foods, your body doesnt need as much! Somae is a “whole foods” (natural ingredients only) plan, that nixes out bread, sugar and dairy. Unfortunately, I got extremely sick last year while doing the plan, and I let that derail my success. I haven’t made a serious effort to get back on plan, until now.
I’ve been reading about paleolithic (cavemen) diets, which utilize a lot of the same foods that Somae promotes: animal protein, healthy fats/oils, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. I like this because I’ve been learning about how important fat actually is, especially for brain function. I’ve also learned that dairy, sugar, refined carbohydrates, processed meat, and other processed foods can cause inflammation. I have multiple sclerosis (MS causes “relapses” when lesions in the brain or spine become inflamed) and it’s cost me cognitive deficits. It finally occurred to me why so many people help treat their MS by changing their diet- science is on their side!
That said, I decided to start posting what I ate throughout the day, to give you guys an idea of what the hell I’m doing. I’m trying to combine the things I learned from Somae and The Paleo Diet, and it’s been pretty great!
(PLEASE NOTE there’s some non- paleo things I ate today, I’m working on it!)

-Leftover cobb salad from CPK (about 1/4 of the salad, portions are huge!)

-coffee with coconut milk creamer
SNACK
-Tangerine
LUNCH
-100 calorie guacamole for dippin’
-handful of baby carrots
SNACKS
-1 tbsp almond butter

DINNER
-1 bunless turkey burger (greek style)
-the rest of that salad
and I had a glass of wine.
I realize when you’re eating higher fat stuff like almond butter, guacamole, etc. that it can be easy to “calorie bomb.” Sooo I’ve been adding stuff up using MyFitnessPal! I’ve also been pushing myself to exercise. I already feel a huge difference, and I’ve only been doing this just under two weeks. I can tell that this time, I got it right.
